    Superbowl

How on earth do some of these "players" (on either side and probably any team in the NFL), manage to get in their team when they carry as much excess weight as many do? Morbidly obese springs to mind!!!!

Not sure it’s excess for throwball. Try blocking a 350 pound opponent!

Many years ago, I saw a few minutes of a doco on TV on a fat obese American "football" player retiring after 20+ years as a pro. In his entire pro career, he never .....touched the ball!! BTW....it was fat, not muscle. I think Darts players look more sporty than he did.

But it's not the fatbergs who require the blocking, just the reverse. The players who are genuinely fit just swerve round the waddlers! 😉

I'm sure they would have done very well finacially from just making the big day, regardless of the result. Should be a bigger purse to invest in Leeds now....🤔..😁

    Huge money that game is.

Not just the league payday. The merchandise sold is a staggering amount. Almost like scum fans when they put out a new kit. They have to have one, along with the obligatory Norwich color scarf, regardless of the price

Ask the American boys but I believe you need the big lads to protect the ‘pocket’

Yes, it's the job of the big boys on the offensive line to protect the pocket but they are the ones who also create space for the FB/HB (also known as running back). They will try and "shift" the defensive line to create the gaps for the runners.

Likewise the defensive line will try and create a hole when they are blitzing down the centre or shrink the ends to blitz of the edge to sack the QB.

It's such an underrated job and they never get a look in for MVP in any game.

I remember the Dolphins had a good DT - N Suh who used to win best player for them when the fins were properly bad
