    RIP Chris Nicholl

A proper old fashioned hard man from the 70’s.

    77 years of age.

Good write up courtesy of the BBC (cue 'someone' turning this into another debate about the TV licence fee 😀 ) .

Remember him as a rugged no nonsense centre half who always came across as a decent bloke both as a player and manager.

Ironically enough there's a photo in the link with Keegan challenging Nicholl when he played for Northern Ireland against England in the Home Internationals.

Why is it ironic? Because Dave Watson, another rugged no nonsense centre half is in the same photo and he too died with dementia following a diagnosis of CTE.

There's also a gratuitous photo of John Wile in our old away kit further down the article. A rugged no nonsense centre half who to the best of my knowledge is currently still in good health.
