    David Beckham’s stupidity rises.

With the Chinese influence on most things evil, the war in Ukraine, the suppression of Muslim communities etc, this wealthy man signs up for a Chinese firm.

    Greed over humanity. Absolutely dreadful.

I honestly do not know what we do with a problem like China.

I get the anti Beckham thing, when is enough enough?

The problem I have is that we are ALL a part of the problem, we all support China because we all buy products produced in China that support all of the horrible stuff they do.

We knew back in the 70’s that we were getting into bed with the Devil by closing down our factories and production of many goods, in reality we had no choice because market forces dictated.

So if the question was put to you as to whether you’d refuse to purchase any product made in China would you do it?

I get the point you’re making about Beckham completely though.

We do need to start looking elsewhere other than China. I know buyers from two of the supermarket leaders are doing this already. For sure they will invade Taiwan and then it will all kick off!

Truly horrible people - still exploit their workers and the products are mostly crap! In life you truly get what you pay for!

Few years from now a fair number of us will be driving around in well made Chinese EV's and Hybrids.

From where and what products are they looking at from elsewhere?

It will be decades before any other region is capable of producing the product needed at the prices required that are presently made in China.

India was going to be the “next China” 25 years ago and it hasn’t happened.

Watch this space, if we’re all still here in 20 years China will still be producing most of our stuff.

I don’t sign up to the dislike of David Beckham clan because he is successful, in fact, it was the opposite. I did have much respect for him, making a life out of football and continuing to be a marketing product years after. I applauded him for his achievements.

My initial point was he is in a position to be able to say no to any financial offers, where we as consumers don’t have that choice when we purchase products made in China or some of a product’s components were made in China.

I personally do try to avoid buying products from China and if I am going to make a purchase of white goods, electrical goods etc. I will do my very best to research it prior to purchasing. If I find a product or a component part of it was made in China I will do my upmost to purchase another similar product, even if the cost is greater.

I do not want my name on one of those missiles raining down on innocent civilians in Ukraine.

That takes me back to my initial point in that it appears David Beckham may not feel the same and money is more important to him than any morals are by supporting China, when he clearly had the opportunity to not do so.

Would love an eBay that doesn’t include China. Only goods I’ve ever had an issue with.

Like OB - we do everything to try and avoid Chinese tat and know many do. I look before I buy and if there’s an alternative to Chinese made goods we buy elsewhere even if slightly more expensive.

Sad that Beckham still wants to make even more money! Perhaps it’s for good marriage counselling and yet again it proves money does not bring happiness!
