    Not that bad !

Putting the possible line up on paper and I don't think it's too bad so far.

    Smith
    Pines, Roberts, Earl
    Lofthouse. Cotter
    Craig
    Phillips. O'Connell

    Cosgrove Watters

    Subs: Hourihane
    Jalo
    O'Keefe
    De Gevigney
    Benson
    Marsh
    Lofthouse
    Killip

I know we need a natural left back but assuming there'll be at least another couple/ three signings I don't feel we're any worse before we sign anyone else. Having a good run of games for Cosgrove and Watters without too much temptation to change one if he has a bad game might do them both good.

    Things will change.
They better do cos that team would be successful but not successful enough.
We need at least another 5 players.
But in the meantime this would be my lineup.

    ……………….. Killip
    ……. Roberts - Pines - Mael
    O’Keefe - O’Connell - Craig - Earl
    ……. Fabio - Cosgrove - Marsh

I think you're right Kernow, we do have some players and with the season behind them and the new coaching staff, there's potential there.i think there will be more additions but I think it's right to give some of the younger ones an opportunity. Clearly you believe that Lofthouse is a good player that can be all over the pitch and on the bench at the same time 😉

    It's my age lol.
I do honestly think it's the season for Jalo and Marsh to be given more game time and hopefully develop.

They and others have to be given opportunities otherwise what is the point of the academy. We're now getting a better balance now though with the experience that's been brought in. Sormaz nailed it with his summary, in hindsight s interview, of what effect Roberts and Hourihane can have on the squad. I'm looking forward to seeing how it pans out.

Yes - I think yer right.
The problem is if they have periods (nowt to do with the colour of the shorts) where they struggle.
    Which most young players do.
So we need a few more signings.
While also ensuring that players such as Yung Yoga gets game time.

Get a left wing back and starting attacker in and I think we’re good to go. I guess if need to start the season with Cosgrove and Watters up top, it’ll have to do but we need to make sure we have a natural left wing back in the team in my opinion.

I assumed when we signed Smith he would be our starting keeper but listening to Darrell and Mladen’s interviews this past week, it sounds like he more long term. I guess that means we will be bring another keeper in, unless Killip has shown himself in good light in pre season.

Jalo I agree with. Darrell has been mentioning about us being flexible in formations moving forward and wanting wingers, I think that would suit Jalo.

Not convinced on Marsh. I know he’s a local lad and we all want him to be scoring in the Ponty end regularly but I can’t see it at this point. Hopefully he proves me wrong and bags a few this season!

I actually said this on here last week when I said that we already had Williams replacement at the club in Lofthouse, so we are in agreement on this one Jules , hope we are right.
