    Relegation certainties

I think we need to face the inevitable.

I think we also need to be extremely wary of letting things get toxic at the ground against the players and the owner.

I remember our first season in the Prem under Megson, our home crowd were the best I’ve ever known.

We expected nothing and the fans stayed behind Megson and the lads until the last.

    Same under Mowbray.

The best way to keep the fans onside is to make sure a good number of homegrown players are playing in the team.

Fans will forgive the kids as they learn, they won’t forgive clowns like Ajayi and wasters like Grant when games are going against us.

It’s not like fans can call for the owner to go or the manager to go, the only target left is the players and the way you avoid that is to give players such as Taylor, Heard and Cleary game time.

I thought Grant played well today Mick. Might be needed this season and I never thought I would hear myself saying that! No sign of Carlos today on the live recording.

Agree with youngsters as you would always be behind them as you appreciate effort. Thought Maja today was non existent. The Barnsley lads were right in that the best striker in league 1 was May who signed for Blues.

Could get hammered at QPR and Leeds looking really good!

That’s the point Al, the fans appreciate effort win or not, what the fans won’t appreciate is the pathetic attitude and lack of effort today

I don’t think that’s it’s inevitable that we will go down but we do have serious challenges to face in the coming season. We have been poor iin the majority of pre-season friendlies which doesn’t augur well for the future. The squad is down to the bare bones and to have any chance of gaining success our recruitment has to be spot on in this final month. The problem is that I have little faith in our recruitment policy.
