I’m amazed tbh.
Does anyone know if we had the sense to put an add on clause in place when we sold him.
I’m expecting not judging by the general competence of the club under Lai.

Good luck to him if finalised.
He always gave his all for us and showed promise - albeit he did worry me from time to time. A timely decent transfer for him away from us, no doubt they were taking a bit of a punt on him.
I amazed too, what on earth do PL-clubs see in him!? Not tall or physical enough, not esp quick, not technically gifted, and has always seemed totally out of his depth at that level… O’Dear…
I really would be shocked if that was the fee, but nothing surprises me in football anymore.
I was expecting it to be a lot less, for the reasons you've outlined above.
He was a solid championship defender in my view. Certainly not £10m+ Prem standard.
If we make anything above £200k on the sell on fee I'd be delighted.
Agreed Thomas, I watched a lot of him last season and he was totally out of his depth.
An old sage told me many years ago that any defender constantly on the stretch and going to ground is a defender who is poor.
You didn’t see much of Alan Hansen on his a r s e, I can’t remember ever seeing him with mud on his shorts!
When Wile, Robertson and Bennett along with Olsson and MacAuley went to ground, it was usually as they were cleaning out opposition players and the ball!
Actually, he was a big player for us under Bilic and his contribution was immense during our promotion season.
He played with determination and passion and contributed quite a few goals for us.
I had him down to be a future captain of a big club.
Then he got injured on international duty and to be honest he was never the same.
Too many games on his heels and no pace to rely on made his vulnerable when faced with a tricky winger.
