Our current situation means that quite a few of the youngsters who played in this game are now named in our first team squad-looks like they have a way to go yet before they are near ready.

We seem to have lots of decent players but very few that cut it to be first team potential. That “gem” like Fellows has turned out to be. That crucial combo of talent and mentality.

Our U21’s shouldn’t be losing games 1-6, especially with the opposition being down to ten men. I don’t know when the player was sent off or how good Norwich U21’s are but with quite a few of these players around our first eleven, to my mind, it shows the need for acquiring some additions to the squad before the ‘window’ closes.

Crucial Leicester. If the only back up is this then when we are struggling we will struggle more with the replacements.

The more we weaken as a club the worse our crop of youngsters are likely to be.

During the wilderness years a high profile football agent who I know from school days told me that it was difficult for Albion to get decent youngsters due to the local strength of Villa but you now have to add Villa to that along with a Blues that now have a high profile ownership.
