Why is it that when we’re linked with a striker it’s always someone with similar figures to the striker we already have or had? Keane from Preston 13 goals last season 2 assists. That’s ok but why say it’s an upgrade? When it clearly isn’t?

I noticed that Stoke signed Koumas junior for a year loan from Liverpool. With his Dad@s links to the club, I was surprised we didn't show interest in a deal for him. Or may be we did.

I can’t understand our policy on strikers. Take Cole as an example. His record is nothing to write home about and from the little we’ve seen of him, he hasn’t impressed. Keane is another. His record for one season was OK but not much else, plus the fact that he’s 31 years old. Let’s hope Maja can keep doing the business. I think that if we can supply him he could well come up with the goods.

I feel the same.

These types of signings have a dead end, we have to start trusting our judgement on lower and non league strikers who we can develop and sell on.
