I’d forgotten that Nathan Jones had become the Addicks manager. It will be interesting to see how he sets out his side to play - wonder if he went there rather than us because they have more resources/are London based/avoid getting relegation on his CV?

Can’t recall if they are regarded as one of the richer clubs at this level - I am surprised that they’ve been at L1 for what seems like quite a while now. Tough fixture in prospect

My first game of the season this, based in London and cricket season’s got in the way of other away trips, but done my shoulder in so that’s done now. Got other family who will be there as Charlton fans and a Miller mate who’s over from the US so should be a good day - but can’t remember us ever being comfortable at the Valley.

They’ve had on and off money troubles but often have some very good players they can’t keep. Always think getting anything from Charlton away is a decent result.

Thanks for the link Flour. I don't want to p*ss on everyone's bonfire (including my own) but the standard of football played in that video is dire to say the least. It's incredible how time can romanticize the past. Pub football.

Huddersfield game McCart looked more solid so he keeps his place. I'd move Odoffin back into midfield in place of Kelly. Mcwilliams at right back. Be a tough game at Charlton see if we can take the momentum from a home game into one away.

Hm, apparently in 8 games since 2014 we haven't beaten them once. The last match before that was in '83, when we'd beaten them five times in a row.

REG is in their squad too but not sure he's played in the league this season.

I remember us playing against Lookman, Aribo and Konsa for them in recent years.

Always found it a big challenge at Charlton. They've set off really well, won 3 lost 1 but, only scored 4 goals whilst conceding 2.

League - Beat Wigan away 0-1
League Cup - Lost to Birmingham at home 0-1
League- Beat Leyton Orient at home 1-0
League - Beat Bolton at home 2-0. Good result that against one of the so called favourites.
League - Lost at Reading 2-0

Tight games for them with marginal wins so, have they got the firepower to topple us or, have we kickstarted our season after the win against Hudders?

As for our lads, we saw their confidence was lifted/boosted significantly when that full time whistle went. The sheer joy on their faces, bodies sinking to the floor and fist pumping going off, plus, we were in joyous rapture at the result. All this to carry forward come Saturday, surely it's worth a point on it's own if the same team effort is given?. The key is application as a unit, fighting for each other, that's all we ask. UTM!
