I hope I’m not jinxing it when I say this, but with all the speculation we’ve had to date.. he’s still here. I don’t think he’d move to another championship club unless we were doing so poorly. Just why would you? I think the thought for Corberan to mould his team and start all over again elsewhere is enough ti put him off, especially with another championship team.
With Leeds record of “hire and fire” what would be the point other than wages and surely we’d look after him to his satisfaction.
I’m not claiming to be an expert on this, just in case some were wondering but I wonder if something could be put in place to keep him happy in terms of financial guarantees going forward?
Maybe someone who’s expert in employment law could comment on this idea.
Given that we have to be careful not to break PSR rules maybe we could guarantee some future payments to him in years to come even if we’ve sacked him or we’ve reached a point where we let him move on?
In the NFL they have a different way of structuring wages and a large proportion of a long contract features “guaranteed” future payments that the club can’t get out of.
Just an idea really to spread the financial load at this time but to keep him warm in the knowledge he has payments coming to him or his family 5 to 10 years down the road?
I tend to think he will stay too but it’s always unsettling. All we want is for everyone to get their head down and get on with it, no distractions.
David Moyes will be the next Leeds manager
Everton also likely to be sniffing if their results don't pick up.
The problem with having a good manager is that he will be in demand.
