Romared Match Thoughts Huddersfield Town v Barnsley

Hard to say how this game will go , two sides currently on a poor run of form , the Duff factor , lunchtime kick off and a local derby thrown in for good measure .

Part of me thinks Town have enough in their team to get back to winning ways , a 4-0 win at Bolton last month clearly indicates they are no mugs despite three consecutive defeats of late .

On the other hand our better displays this season have been on the road and there's no reason why we can't take advantage of I'm told a rather hostile atmosphere towards their own team at The John Smith's Stadium .

We really need that first goal tomorrow which I feel will be huge .

Whilst we are definitely stumbling through matches our form especially away is half decent, but we have always had over the years the ability to halt other teams bad runs and no doubt about it the Terriers have had a really bad time of it of late , I expect MLH to pull on his experience to get his team firing again, they still have some decent quality in their ranks and have a better squad than us , so I expect a tight affair and the best I can see for us is a draw but it would not surprise me if we lost .

    Well owt can happen.
0-0 bore draw - or one of the teams could win four nil.

    My lineup

    Gaba
    Mael - Pines - Earl
    O’Keffe - Connell - Benson - Lofthouse
    Fabio - Humphreys - Marsh

    No ……
Roberts - because other centre backs are better.
Cotter - he dunt know how to defend.
Dunn - because he’s shown nowt.
Cosgrove - cos he’s a lump er lard.

Quite frankly, they are absolutely sh !tting it. And i cant think why. I think their fans are resigned to the fact that good ship “p!ss the League” has sailed….. and know that a win for us will see the “stolen prize” (MLH) be like the goldfish you win at a fair……..Doesn’t last long…….
Been telling them all week that its two teams that cant defend, cant attack, and have managers who have blunt tools.
Who the feck knows how this one goes…….

Your two young forwards are miles off and in my opinion need to be put in your not good enough list .

    Benson I agree .

Pines or Roberts but not both , partially agree .

Lofthouse , worth a run in the team .

However the whole squad is pretty thin gruel .

The responsibility lies with ................... ??????

The responsibility? Well its surely the HEAD COACH who in my opinion is 2 games away from the sack. He's not good enough despite managing over 600 games professionally. He doesn't understand the difference between FULLBACKS and WINGERS. He also doesnÂ’t understand how to play the 3-4-3 system. However, he's not as bad as the previous head coach who abandoned the 'Barnsley way' and should've been sacked long before the penultimate game of last season. Bring on Thalhammer!

    Rinse and repeat.

    It's never the owners fault.

When y'all look at the defence we need to start with Killip because Gaba flaps the defence don't trust him Ho and he can't kick.

    Recent thoughts.
Put Morris and Dike in this squad - and it’s nearly as good as the one that finished 5th in the Championship.

But instead we are just an average 1st Division team.

Sormaz said there are plans for future transfer windows.
But why didn’t they put a sufficient squad together when they had chance to ???

So IMO this is where we are right now …….

We didn’t replace Cole and McAtee in the window.

DC - has more or less said he doesn’t think the players are good enough.
Personally I haven’t yet seen a team that has better players in this division.
Although I ain’t seen Wrexham and Brummy yet.

DC - has said he doesn’t know which formation to play.

We have ditched the paint dry crab style football seen last seen and the forward play is quicker - although the disorganised mess seen from last season continues.

    So then …..
Is there any wonder that it’s difficult to watch Barnsley right now when we haven’t got sufficient strikers and the HC hasn’t much confidence in the players or knows which formation to play ???

The clock is ticking with regards to DCs time at Barnsley.
It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that other HCs are already being spoken to.

It doesn’t really matter what the result is at Hudders - if things don’t pick up generally then DC will be gone before Christmas.

I see the HC has become the target again whilst the owners get off scott free, it is clear the squad is not good enough and the recruitment once again has been poor, those responsible are clueless . Regarding some of the comments about the team I wonder if people actually attend or even watch the games, for a start Marsh is clearly struggling and has done from day one, loan spells for the lad have been fruitless and he has had no luck with injuries but from being a promising youth player he has clearly gone backwards and should be nowhere near the squad , the defence once again has been poor although I find the comments about Roberts ( Mark ) to be strange, he is the one player who currently is actually on form, the last two matches he has put in MOM performance and in my opinion should be wearing the captains armband , again I wonder what people see , Cotter who has been the one bright spot to be replaced by Okeefe who so far has been shocking is totally bonkers, I could go on and on but it is pointless , fans have already made their minds up , they want to change the coach again after 9 games , do fans not realise who sets these coaches on ? and that ladies and gentlemen is where the root cause lays .
