When doing right, is doing wrong, or is it

I live in a bungalow in Swinton, 2 doors away from my home, a Blind lady
lives alone, if I am outside & see a stranger go to her door, I have asked
who they are, thinking I am doing the right thing.
One day last week, I saw a man a stranger to me go to the Blind ladies
home to her front door.
I was cleaning my car at the time, & explained to the man that the lady
was Blind & that I kept a eye out if I saw a stranger go to her door.
He replied, he was going to measure up for window blinds, & it was good
to have neighbours who care.
The lady answered the door, I shouted who it was to the lady, she said is that
you [my name], & carried doing my car.
Next day the Blind lady told our mutual next door neighbour that I was being
nosey & had no business asking the man who he was, & I should keep my
nose out.
Be it in the past, I have had to get into the Blind ladies home, & help her
after she collasped, after other neighbours came to fetch me.

Ps the Blind lady has doorbell camera's that alert her daughter, when anyone
comes to both her front & back doors, who live over 1 mile away.
The Blind lady has a caravan on the coast, & always asks me to keep a eye
on her bungalow, when away.

Question is - Do I bother in future or what.

Eric tough one as you have obviously helped her in the past and are doing all you can however if she is saying you are being nosey I?d say stay out of it in future sounds like she wants to have her cake and eat it if that makes sense it?s ok to watch her house when she?s away in her caravan but when she?s home you?re being nosey
I?d steer well clear if I were you but no doubt others will disagree

Advised to check my keyboard, nothing wrong with that, so must be a site issue.

All sounds a bit suspicious to me ELK. Why does a blind woman need blinds? Are you sure you didn't stumble upon another Ernie the milkman story? (Charlie the blinds man?).

Just kidding of course and as much as it probably hurts having your good intentions snubbed I'd just let it go for now and in future continue to do what you think is right whilst remembering these events.

Personally I would ask the lady if she wanted you to keep an eye out for her in the future.
You could say you wouldn't want her to think you were interfering or being nosey so would be quite happy to take a step back and leave matters to her daughter if that's what she prefers.
I'm fairly sure she won't want that but at least if you ask her you'll know for sure.

2nd hand information can be misleading. For example, a different tone in the retelling can make a jokey comment sound more threatening.

I'd have a word with the blind lady. She might have meant or said something completely different... or maybe just having a bad day
