OT can the reputation of Rotherham ever be restored?

    What reputation?

As a significant industrial centre? As a place full of happy, friendly northerners? Pre-the 1,400 shame? As a gritty, hard-to-beat football club?

My enquiry is a result of a conversation I overheard, two fellas saying how the town will always be tarnished by the scandal.

It really did get me thinking if it can be turned around. I like to think it could but have no idea how. Any positive suggestions?

I don't think it is to anyone whose opinion I'd listen to. It makes for an easy chant for away fans, but the actions of a few don't define 250k people, nor the town they live in.

It no doubt puts footballers off coming here but the town is hardly unique in this regard.

It's a national scandal not just a local one.

Ulley, 'actions of a few', I think you meant pal the 'degrading raping' by gangs of possibly hundreds of youths/men some who will never be challenged and, dare I say it, I don't think it's gone away, just ignored.

As someone not from Rotherham I don't automatically think about what happened to those young girls every time I hear your town getting a mention in the media and what have you .

As far as I'm concerned the only stain is on those who committed those offences and those who stood by and did nothing about it .
