Everyone knows the problems which have come to the fore again recently but in terms of overall crime rate, Rotherham is lowest, Doncaster is worst followed by Barnsley and then Sheffield.

Criimes per 1000 people:

Rotherham 96.54
Sheffield 101.90
Barnsley 105.85
Doncaster 129.36
