OT dazzling headlights

Pleased the government is to look into this problem after an AA survey revealed many motorists have complained about being dazzled by oncoming traffic. It's particularly bad on roads without street lights and is now being linked with hundreds of collisions. It never used to be like this and we can blame the car manufacturers. Pleased it's not just me

I too have read that headlights on new cars are causing a problem because of their greater brightness but also made worse by the size of modern vehicles meaning the lights are slightly higher. Anyone else heard this? Mind you, the muck on the inside of my windscreen probably doesn't help as it scatters the light. Note to self: get it cleaned!

It?s more to do with the ? auto full beam? setting on some cars. Which is different from ? auto light? settings you get on most cars

Still see some clowns driving around in older cars with no lights on! Had to tell someone the other day he had no lights on, he thanked me but come on, just look at your dashboard and you will see it is not lit up.

An alternative way of saying 'Thank you' is to quickly flick from dipped beam to side lights, and back again. No vision impairment that way.

It's unnecessarily overbright LED lights that's the problem. Certainly stopping people(especially elderly) from driving at night.

However, no one has mentioned the horrendous LED lights at NYS…..now they are REALLY in your face.
