O/T NewTiming Belt / Cambelt Garage Prices For My Car

New Timing Belt / Cambelt prices for my car.

I have a 2.0 litre Ford Mondeo / Private number plate

The car belonged to my Son, who passed away in September 2018.

I sold my car, & kept my Son's car, be it that he loved the car, so my wife
& I obtained the car, in remembrance of our Son.

I have the car serviced at the same time as the MOT is due.

I priced a new timing belt / cambelt [ Full kit, with new water pump] at
    a local garage.
The garage quoted 705 pounds, so I said, how much cash in hand, to which
625 pounds was quoted, labour at 75 pounds a hour x by 7 hours.
Brother-in-law told me about a firm at Manvers, Wath-on-Dearne, so after
receiving my first quote, I went down to Manvers.
I was quoted 380 pounds [ Full kit, with new water pump ], I said straight away
    book it in.
Had the work done, service book stamped & through the books for 380 pounds,
I took car in for 8.30am & it was ready for pick up just over 4 hours later.

    Sure pays to shop around.

Sadly just had to have a clutch in my van. I had 3 quotes at ?775. And 2 at ?800. Phoned a garage at swallownest they quoted ?620. Booked it in there for the Monday.. I told them I was going away on the Monday for a couple of days and even though family members were at home I would collect it and pay thursday.
Got home Wednesday, they had delivered it bach home. Posted the keys and invoice...
Highly delighted with the service, shame I had to spend ?620 quid on a van that's only worth ?3000

Hate to think what a Ford dealership would have wanted for doing the work.
I posted the thread, in case anyone needed a place where prices are cheaper.

    A remarkable absence of compassion.

Didn't put number mate, thought was not allowed to promote a business.
I would have messaged the firm & number.
