    Raising the Roofe

Seems we have signed free agent Kemar Roofe, a 32 yr old striker who has played for Rangers and in the championship, hopefully a good addition to the strike force?

With any sort of service he could be this seasons Dwight Gayle. Very disappointed to see some stupid insulting messages about him (from Derby fans) on social media

I sincerely hope not seeing as Gayle only made six appearances for us. Hoping for much better from Roofe who is significantly younger but I agree, although I haven’t seen them, totally ridiculous and counter productive to start criticising a player before he’s even kicked a ball for us.

Gayle was a goal every 160 minutes I believe, 8 goals from Roofe would make him a folk hero

The comments go beyond his playing ability rA, embarrassing stuff although it may be one prat with multiple accounts

Comments down to him being a former Dirty L**ds player, perhaps?

Comments down to his ethnicity, I could excuse comments about Leeds

When you put it like that I take your point. I’d actually have tried to keep Gayle and have aimed to get him fit, but six bit part appearances was disappointing despite the three goals.

Personally I couldn’t care less who someone has played for before. They’re pro footballers/managers and go where they go. Bobby D for instance was, and always will be, one of my all time favourite players. Always gave his all and that’s what really matters imo, couldn’t care less that he played for Leeds and two of our major local rivals…beyond his control.

Seems good business, hopefully kept himself fit. Online comments this season have become more negative (from some). I think for some fans the goodwill towards clowes has diminished, they have forgotten how close we came to ceasing to exist.

Intriguing how a comma can make interpretation quite different
