    Langstaff Back

Sadly not playing tho, he's our guest of honour and will introduce before k.o and interviewed at half time.
Can't we send a message to our owners, and start a "Bring him back" chant, let's try anyway, are we up for it lads n lasses

Anyone else feeling that it was quite pointed at Crowley? 😂 The questioning and pointing out he moved on and is getting a fantastic reception. Thought Langstaff got a couple of digs in as well on the sly, well done Notts if intentional

I bet he was wishing he was on the pitch Wednesday night as we still play a way that he'd love.

It seemed a very strange thing to be happening that he was introduced to the crowd.? Do you think maybe they were testing the fans reactions on how they would be if we were to buy him back.??

I think the langstaff and Crowley departures are interesting comparisons.

Both left for more money. Let?s face it.

But one left to challenge 2 divisions above. The other left for a side who were even at that time in the bottom half of the table with us still fully in the promotion hunt.

Also Langstaff signed a new contract before leaving maximising his Notts value, Crowley let his contract run almost out.

For me it shows you can leave with a little more integrity.

I don't think it was specifically for that purpose, but the club does seem to be courting him somewhat. I get the feeling we'd be happy to have him back, and at this point, he'd be happy to come back. If we get promoted, I can see it happening. It'll probably mean a fairly high transfer fee but still a fraction of what we sold him for.

The other thing was that Dan had tried to force a move to MK on the last day of the earlier window at the beginning of the season
All his team mates knew he was semi-detached in the intervening period until we finally let him go when MK paid our asking price
In his defence he would have stayed had we met what he was asking for to renew his contract

glad we stuck to our wage struture as he moved purely for the money. His dig at Notts paying him what he wanted by saying he moved to MK as they were an "ambitious club" Notts are ambitious but going about it a more sustainable way rather than paying over the odds for a player.

As for Langstaff I'd welcome him back with open arms for sure. It feels like his agent pushed him into joining Millwall after our price was met. The fact Macca took the captains arm band and signed a new long contract points to that. He's often back at Meadow Lane but this is the first time he's been introduced to the crowd. I think Notts did it to show him how much we all like him still, an interesting move by Notts

There was also the little matter of his interview at MK Dons when he talked about finally being at a club that can go all the way, and how he had felt that playing for Notts at MK on Boxing Day had been like an "audition". Don't these thicko footballers realise that thanks to the miracle of the internet fans of their previous club can watch their interviews at the new club?
