A few years ago now Kel banned Piglet. This is despite Kel not being a moderator on this board. Griff couldve stood up to him and stopped his most prolific poster being banned, but for whatever reason, was not strong enough to do so.
Since the ban this place has withered and all but died. Why? Firstly Piglets posts were a big draw and source of debate. Secondly, other regular posters did not like the censorship, and the fact their mod had failed to stick up for them, and went elsewhere. Therefore this place is now just non-cufc fans guessing football scores.
Why is this important? Because the other forum is highly pro-trust. Or at least was at the time of the takeover. So when the Brady Bunch arrived with pockets full of cash, but no idea about how English football actually works, there was no functioning forum for more free thinking fans to debate the takeover. No place to point out that moneybags isnt enough. A proper management structure, with people who know the ropes, was needed.
Piglet was a lone voice over there pointing this out, but was just called a wind up merchant, because the culture was so pro-trust. If this forum was still doing its job at point of takeover Piglet wouldve been heard and I think the Piataks wouldve taken notice and done things differently.
So thank you very much Griff for ruining Carlisle United
