    Why the hesitancy?

Have just watched Hamshaw's post-Bolton interview. It's clear that the guy is so INVESTED in the team and the job, and given the dramatic improvement in performances and results, why is there no news of a permanent contract?

Surely now is the time to give Hammy the opportunity to build the support structure he says he needs, and to plan for recruitment.

The last two games in particular have re-energised my enthusiasm for watching the Millers. I feel connected in a way that I haven't for the majority of this season, as has been mentioned by others on other threads. As the season draws to a close I'm feeling frustrated because I'm raring to go.

    Over to you Mr Chairman.

In his first interview he said the arrangement until the end of the season suited both parties, so it might not be the club.

That would have been the diplomatic thing to say. Events change responses. I can't imagine Stewart is thinking "I'll hang on and see if things change for the worse."

In management you seize the opportunity because you believe you can control the situation.

We will not attract anybody better than Hammy and Woggy, who seem to be very compatible. The club track record of always working on a tight budget deters any decent manager to come.So why has the Board not agreed a deal.Could it be that MH has identified a number of changes that need to be done,eg.training ground and youth development and AMBITION.Could it be that a take over could be on the horizon and the new owners will have the last say?

Can't see Stewart selling up in the centenary year; he will be looking for another moment in the spotlight. Hammy might be thinking of some of the conditions you mention, but given that this will be his first venture into management I doubt he will be too demanding.

Can't see us getting anything at Stockport given that they haven't played this week, but a defeat shouldn't make any difference to Hammy's claim on the job.

Build on the positive vibe and GIVE HIM THE JOB!

A club in Rotherham with an owner from Rotherham with a manager from Rotherham could end up with a Rotherham apprentice scoring the centenary goal sending us up.

    Just an hopeful wish!

For real, liek why don't they give the man the backing and show the fans this club has a plan. We’ve waited long enough for some stability

If I was holding the purse strings I'd ensure the condition that we stayed up formed a central part of the contract.

Although we could still face the drop - an unlikely possibility - I'm hoping a further announcement will be made when the maths are right, possibly after the game this Satdi.
