Accrington have today announced the closure of their academy due to financial challenges akin to the same financial challenges our own club faces do we think it will be long before our academy is under threat of closure ?

It's such a fundamental topic for the club, it would need to be seriously discussed for quite a while before it would happen.
Accrington are in a more precarious position than us as they have a smaller fan base and a more economically deprived area. What level was their academy and, on average, how many youngsters made it through to the first team?
