Who is good enough [to retain]?

    Maynard - No

    Bass - Yes
    Slocombe - No
    Miller - Who knows

    Macari - No
    Gordon - No
    Tsaroulla - maybe
    Platt - Yes
    Bedeau - Yes
    Chicksen - No
    Cameron - No
    Ness - Who knows
    Cundy - No
    McDonald - No

    Jones - Yes
Palmer - Not in this system
Robertson - God knows, made of glass
Grant - No. still don?t know what he actually does
    Whitaker - God no
    Jarvis - Yes
Abbott - Yes, but not with us
Edwards - No, was wrong big time on him

Jatta - Not sure. Can?t trap a bag of cement
Didzy - Yes but body is letting go now
Traore - Doesn?t look like it
    Morias - Obviously doesn?t fit

I think in another system some of those players could work, but it?s a pretty depressing list. May have even missed some out. To be fair I think some of the players are much better but have been let down by poor man management and tactics.

Sadly I'd agree with this list. I'm not even sure Tsaroulla is up to It. It doesn't leave us with much does it? Let's hope our new Italian has a few aces up his sleeve because our transfer business needs a rethink.

Pompey and orient fans don't seem to think much of him though...

Not sure Jones or Jarvis are good enough as inverted wing backs - let's hope they aren't asked to do that next season! Really we need to find a way to use Jones as a no 10 in a free role.

Them 2 would be absolutely perfect in a 433 and if they?re both on the books August I?d suggest changing to that system solely because of that. I?d stick Beadau and Platt CB, Macari would be fine at RB, Tarsollou could possibly do a job at LB, Bass fine, Jatta at the top and maybe you have a starting point.

I agree with that. We've gone from having a handful of genuine stars who should be playing higher up the pyramid to having maybe one, but he's injury-prone and constantly played out of position. Jones is a wide forward or winger. I'm cool with him playing on the right and cutting in, but he needs to be on the ball where he can do more damage.

Way too many average players in our squad. Way too many lightweight players who don't affect the game enough. Not enough big personalities.

Oh and Jatta is good enough. He scored 20 goals and is the second top scorer in the league. He's just out of form, as is the entire team.

    Tend to agree.

The problems start with a back 3 where gaps between the three in possession are too wide. With Baldwin it was brain farts, mostly to do with losing his footing. With Platt (who I rate) his passing is at best laboured and mostly obvious and sometimes poor where he needs to be bailed out by the Bedeau. A back four would allow more protection and hopefully the ability to inject more pace of our own choosing rather than forced upon us by a spot of panic. It would also require only one midfielder to be on counterattack alert.

So you want to get rid of a 20+ goal striker because he is out of form at present? Be careful what you wish for they are very hard to come by. His strength is running onto the through ball which since Crowley left is in very short supply. Harland and Palmer have lost form regarding scoring but you won't hear many City and Chelsea fans wanting them gone.

I don't want to get rid of Jatta. He has been poor since January, but then we haven't played to his strengths. I'm not sure he will be here in August though, if the teams who were interested in him haven't been put off.
