SSN reporting that "they understand" Howe will lead transfers going forward, supported by Nickson and Andy Howe, same as before - when we got Bruno, Burn etc.
If this is the case, I'm assuming it's more likely we go heavy for Delap and Trafford.

On the plus side, he?s the one who had to pick the team, so having final say on who we go for is massive.
On the negative side, the job also has to cut players who aren?t good enough and replace them with better players? loyalty is great, but I worry he could be too loyal to some players at the expense of the overall team and club? just never came across as the kind of ruthless that is needed for that part of the game. He?ll never be able to say ?I wanted to keep?? so it is all on his head and players will know it.
I really hope that Longstaff and Willock have the integrity to want to play more football and ask to leave.
Longstaff I think Eddie will let go. I don't know if he will want both Sean and Joe to both go.
However, if we have ?250m to spend which is being banded around are true. Now is the time.
Angel Gomes is a far better player than Willock. He's Free.
We can't keep extending contracts of players that are not good enough for a Champions League run and a potential title tilt
Just to remember what Eddie himself has very strongly implied or actually said:
- very important window coming
- no PSR restrictions
- players will be leaving
- we need new signings.
Just to lift the gloom a bit!!
I don't have any gloom personally.
In Eddie we trust
He does have to be more pragmatic and ruthless. There is no time for sentiment. Longstaff just isn't a game changer off the bench.
No is Willock anymore. We need to get players in who can come off the bench and strike fear into the hearts and tired legs of the opposition.
That's my worry.
Already talk of Longstaff staying - not saying that is bad but with regards to where improvement is needed and we could make most money, he is logical to sell.
Same with Wilson and this worrying talk of a potential deal.
We do have to trust Eddie...and we absolutely should. He's earned that and more.
Mind, doesn't mean he doesn't have flaws-which manager doesn't? I do worry that Wilson and/or Longstaff might be staying and Wilson, in particular, offered so little whenrver he came on, that playing him was actually detrimental to us.
I guess, though, that Eddie sees the impact that players have not just on the pitch and he has to consider the squad as a whole so...
Solmanik the Donkey's (Dominic Solanke) acquisition for Bournemouth proves Eddie Howe can make serious mistakes in the market.
Hilarious that Spurs spent 50m on the donkey. I laughed and knew that their season was doomed. How right I was.
He's not infallible is my point. However, he has a lot more experience and a far better team with Steve Nickson a safe pair of hands that is an excellent scout with a global network. So good that he managed to survive the Ashley Era, now he's been let off the lash and is able to offer the 'A Tier' players and there is an actual chance the club will sign them.
So I think that relationship with Eddie Howe, Steve Nickson & Andy Howe is one that seems to work well.
The blend of players like Tripz, Burn, Bruno, Botman & Tonali proves there is a broad and quality understanding of what the team needs. Also, not just identifying the right players but going out and getting them, selling the vision and project of the club.
Not to mention, Tino Livrmento & Lewis Hall. We all grumbled at those signings to be fair. I hold my hands up, I was not impressed and for a long time we all thought that Hall was pushed on Howe and he didn't want him.
How wrong we were! Eddie was fine tuning the lad and working hard to develop him to play the LB role exactly as required.
When he started for the toon, it was like BOOOM WOW this kid is the future of England LB and the Toon for the next decade!
Good give it to Howe and the team for taking that player at the time they did because they realised his quality.
That's all the evidence I need.
Let's hope they've done the same with Osula!
More to come hopefully.
In fairness, Solanke got 19 goals in 38 games the season before Spurs bought him but his record before that was poor.
We have to trust Eddie BUT??
I see a lot of this. If Wilson, Ruddy, etc left and the performance of the whole squad dropped, are we happy? This is where hes coming from I believe.
Do yous trust him or not? 😃
