I'm really surprised that so many people are apparently resisting a move to the new site given that several stalwarts such as Elite have already gone, and that the most recent poll was strongly in favour of starting over. As someone's said elsewhere, it's their prerogative, but I'm not sure that's actually the main thing. It may be inertia (the old site behaving again for the moment), fear of the unknown or perhaps even that many people don't know what's on offer.

I'm far from being a prolific poster, but I've found the new site to be very easy to adjust to, and so much faster. Why not give it a try? It would be a shame to find ourselves in this situation again in the near future when the old site next lets us down.

Maybe it would help to have a sticky on this forum to signpost the new, and let everyone know that we're actively transitioning.

PS If I'm interpreting Mr Swale's message correctly, then it would be very remiss of me not to take the opportunity to thank him for all his past efforts. It's largely down to him that we have such a decent forum and it's a real pity it doesn't yet have the platform it deserves.
