    On This Day

    ...30th Aug 2019.

Funster Manager and overall snake, James ‘Grass The Porter Up’ McPake truly discovers The Joy Of Six as once again and incredibly for the SECOND time in four years, United smash the funny wee team in to absolute oblivion.

After failing miserably to capitalise on United’s relegation following their ‘Better Than Winning A Trophy’ night (copyright Alan Patullo) instead, as per, capitulate instead to more years of miserable mediocrity finished off by a truly outstanding job by Agent Jim McIntyre sealing the relegation with amazing panache.

Still seething and totally bylin’ from Agent Jim’s magnificent and well deserved ovation at Tannadice just a couple of weeks earlier, the mighty Dees get tore right in from kick off and seal victory in the 8th minute following a tremendous finish after incessant Funny pressure on the wilting DABS. Incredible scenes follow as grown men pile on to the pitch to get it right up the 4000 Free Primary School Season Ticket holders in the Shed as a famous night on the tiles beckons.

    Until it doesn’t.

Instead, and with 82, yes, EIGHTY TWO minutes still to go, this somehow changes the entire match and if it wasn’t for the cheating refs then a seismic victory was in their grasp. (The fact it WAS onside makes it even funnier.)

Consequently, United take full advantage of proper Funny defending, marshalled by a true Funster legend in Jordan Forster to help themselves to another absolute doing culminating in Cammy Smith joining Charlie Telfer in the now not very exclusive, ‘He Got Number Six’ Club.

What a night, what a phucking amazing night.

True story, me and Affshore left early for a beat the rush to the bar for an easy to get served pint in The Snug and we were both moaning like phuck that we took our foot aff the gas in the 2nd half because it could have been 10 that night.
