Turkish Football - Match Officials Found to Have Betting Accounts.

Turkey's Football Federation -

Are set to launch disciplinary proceedings, after hundred's of professional match officials were found to have betting accounts.

After a 5 year investigation it was found that 371 out of 571 match officials have
accounts, with 152 actively gambling.

Some bet once, 42 bet on more than 1,000 football matches, with one official
was found to have placed 18,227 bets.

Listed are 7 referee's, & 15 assistant referee's. from Turkey's top 2 divisions.
As-well as 36 " classified " referee's, plus 94 from the level below.

* With this will UEFA be looking at dodgy decisions in past games in Europe, if any
of these referee's officiated in any games, Champions League etc.

Turkey Football Federation

Have suspended 149 referee's & assistant referee's
Bans range from 8 month's to 12 month's, based on the " Severity of the Act ".
There is still investigations into 3 other officials going on.

The full list of the penalised officials was published on the Turkish Football Federation
[TFF] website.

Thought's
8 to 12 month's bans doesn't seem a lot for the severity of the act, when the men who
have been caught betting, can change a game with their decisions, be it if they have
bet on a game they are in charge of.

Now the footballers in Turkish football,
have been reported found betting.

The Turkish Football Federation has
suspended over 1,000 (1,024) players in
a growing investigation into betting.
