    Hamish Douglas

Good to see the club have got the 20 year old on a 2 year contract, with a option of a further year.

ELK, if he continues to excel in his role, do you think our club will look to offer him a further extension after one year, in order to keep him tied to us and stop outsiders from looking in ready to take him on a free or low price after 2 years?

I am glad I am not the only one Lol.

The benefit he has is that playing centre half is not his natural position.

When he is pushed further up the pitch which he will be when the real centre halves are fit he will be able to use this experience and know what is needed in defence.

The main thing is for him is that he continues to develop.
We know that MH sees him capable to fit the role that Crooks played.

I can?t imagine how good he will be in 3 years but I know Matt Hamshaw does.

If after 12 month's, be it Douglas comes through, what I would call a experience process, & shows he has the quality to be a outstanding centre-half, by all means try to get the player to sign a extension on his contract.
Trouble is, if Douglas shows that he can be a good defender he may get his head turned by his agent, to look at other clubs.
Who Would be interested in signing the player.

Has slotted in very well, doesn't look out of place at all, neither did Duncan in his cameo.
Would really benefit from playing alongside a Woody type, if we had anybody fit !

I'd like to see Richardson get another run out, even if only for 20 minutes or so.

Thought he was out on loan somewhere ? A couple more good games from Douglass and the big boys will be flocking here, what?s not to like about a 6? 5? defender ?

It is great to see a home grown player come through, and hopefully his bright start will continue. He will have bad games and make mistakes he is young, but we have to be supportive of him. I would like to see Duncan given a contract and also brought through into the first team, you can see there is something about that lad. Why invest in Sheffield utd kids but not our own, if they are good enough to be given a chance.
Like a lot of young kids their chances come because others aren’t fit, MH was forced into playing Douglas and Duncan he wouldn’t have done it if he had the choice not to.
