Was thinking when Gabby had to leave
MOTD studios? great character, rest well
admittedly over the years he had his personal battles....... but Terry Yorath was always quietly diligently and actively involved in helping charities, particularly those in the Roundhay Park north Leeds area where he had always lived....... he will be sadly missed.
........ his philanthropic efforts were largely driven by the sudden tragic death of his 15-year-old son, Daniel a Leeds Utd youth player of talent, who died from an undetected heart condition in 1992 while playing football with Terry in their house back garden in which he was also laid to rest to be near family.
......... key examples of his charity work in and around Leeds include several specialist facilities being built and named after Terry and his son Daniel with money raised from various fund raising projects he helped organise.
.......... Cardiac Health Awareness and Fundraising was also important......... which Terry and his former wife Christine nationally campaigned tirelessly to raise awareness of sudden cardiac death in young people.
........ they raised vast funds for childrens heart charities which their daughter the BBC TV presenter Gabby Logan continues to support in calling for routine heart screening for young athletes.
............ sad that his days as a Leeds player ended with sections of our support barracking him leading to his eventual move from the club....... but filling that number 4 shirt of Billy back then was not an easy task in fairness.
......... he loved Leeds ....... married a Leeds girl whose mum and dad owned the famous chip shop opposite the entrance to ER and even in his later years after retirement could always be seen jogging around Roundhay Park often stopping to chat with folks along route.
......... thanks for all the memories, Terry.
on behalf of all Meanwood Whites N. Leeds.

RIP Terry.
Another during my time of barracking for Leeds. So many of those era gone tells me it's nearly time for me to hang up my boots
RIP legend
RIP - went to school with some of his kids.
Very sad and can?t imagine what it must have been like losing a son when he did.
Absolute Leeds Legend from that great Revie side.
Think his son died in his arms while playing football in the family home's back garden, something you never ever get over .
RIP
Very sad rip.
Absolute Legend. RIP.
A genuine Leeds legend.
I am lucky enough to have one of his iconic mid-seventies Wales shirts. He wore it well.
RIP Terry.
