    O/T Melbourne Commemorative Test Match

    Surely I have misread this?.

The Match at the MCG to commemorate 150 years of Test Cricket will be played with a pink ball ?
Presumably a one day / night match therefore, but notwithstanding, a pink ball !

    Why a pink ball?
I thought day/night games were played with a white ball. Playing with a pink ball seems strange, yet at the same time strangely erotic.....🤣🤣🤣🤣

Never considered cricket as erotic Db buddy, despite playing for many years. What have I been missing ?

The pink ball is a baffling thing for sure. Is it akin to footballers wearing rainbow coloured football laces do you think?

I’m informed (Mickd) its because the match is a day/night match and a fluorescent ball is required.

For me, a match commemorating 150 years of test matches should reflect the format of the historical matches.

Ah, OK. That makes sense. But pink?
Yellow I thought would be better for day/night games...but sure what do I know.
