For rest of the season
Well, if he is the chosen one I wish him all the luck in the world, as I think that he is going to need it!
he's not a bad guy but neither was Mason and maybe even Ramsay byt the rot is so deep .
I was at the preseason game v Blackpool under Bruce and we lost . I counted a minimum of 16 passes to get out of the half .
It has gone on all season and here we are .
I think Phillips and heggebo and Ptice have more to give but confidence is shot and no player believes the coach.
Peace said we we were a mid table championship side before he sold to Lai who was the real villian- mid table .... if only
as if it mattered
Have they considered that Morrison, Abella and Myhill were with the last three managers that have been sacked. They have clearly been seen barking instructions into the managers lug holes.
So why should anything be different? The players certainly did not raise their game for Morrison at Oxford as they were shambolic!
Our best player Johnston is now out so are Wallace, Maja and Dike going to start weaving the magic?
I would have let Morrison assist an experienced manager even Mowbray but solo - the club for me have made another shocking decision!!
It might be even better best if the club regroup in league 1 with a new manager and all the dross gone!
It really comes down to how much money we could spend, how attractive we were to decent managers, and who can quickly get to know the club and players with only 11 games left.
I imagine we had no money, no one wanted to come and even if they did there isnt enough time to implement what they want to do.
Add to the mix you need a battler to get us away from relegation but an attacking coach to get us back up. So this appointment wasnt simple.
Morrison is the best pick we had available I think.
Totally agree but our visiting supporters turn up in huge numbers and if the players don?t turn up these supporters have every right to boo. Like at Oxford when many will have spent over ?100 plus to see utter tripe!
It?s alright for those who sit on a sofa ( me included lately ) saying don?t boo when these fans spend fortunes. I do not think anyone should boo though whilst the match is in progress but totally get it at the end of the match.
The visiting supporters to their credit hugely back the players at the end when a shift has been put in.
It does work two ways.
I think that's about the size of it Matt and I'd also read (though I'm not sure how true this is) that some of those approached wanted a 2 year deal rather than an "until the end of season and then we'll see" one.
To be honest, I wasn't convinced that any of our former managers who have been speculated about in the media recently could turn us around in any case whether Mowbray, Moore, Bilic or Corberan not least due the limited time available. That said, I would still have preferred Morrison to have been able to work alongside an experienced manager for these remaining games.
It is what it is now though and maybe new appointee Matt Gill can help Mozza get a tune out of this lot. Consistently showing desire and some battling intent is the very minimum they need to start doing-they owe the club and fans this at the very least.
As for Morrison, personally, I haven't disagreed either with what he has said in interviews nor with many of the decisions he has made when he has been in charge. However, whilst he is respected by many, he is not an experienced manager and he's got a mountain of a job in front of him. As such, I would hope the fans show some understanding and support.
The Oxford game was a shambles and he was clearly left feeling very let down by the players and (rightly) fuming at them. Saturday will be massive in terms of seeing how these players respond. Let's just hope they deliver something for the watching fans to get behind after they've forked out their hard earned money.
Anyhow, anyone up for a second Great Escape?😀
