    joe Rafferty contract

According to Advertiser, Joe Rafferty has an auto extension if he plays so many games.

Question, if he is getting near - do you drop him so we dont have to auto extend?

    Play him regardless

Play him because you want him to extend?

For me, if hall back - dont play him or use Cover instead

He's appeared in all but three of the league games, I'd guess he's already passed it.

Horses get put out to grass.

    Players now come to NYS.

Joe R, like quite a few, at first was fairly nippy for his age, played well. That is some time ago. You could say been played well out of position, should be in a back 4. I would agree.

If LC plays that way, we will see what he may still be able to do…..beyond appearing.

We need players being played to their strengths, in position natural to them, all of them. The contract situation of all of them needs attention and any incoming, not just Joe’s.

Quite what the nitty gritty of any player contract details these days are, particularly at our club must be interesting. It takes us so long to get some of them over the line, it beggars belief.

If any player can be let to trigger a year to be allowed to stay, and potentially a soft year risk, in my view it is poor. However, at present all we have I assume is a scant quote by a journalist which could be ambiguous.

Equally, for a club not to play a player - they do not want - just to get rid, seems just as bad. Football is certainly not what it used to be.
