Just bought a 12 pack of toilet rolls, a dozen tins of beans, six cartons of milk, two dozen tins of assorted soups, four loaves of wholemeal bread and 240 tea bags from Aldi in case of any food shortages and sudden panic buying by selfish shoppers.

Must add that other supermarkets are available.

We use Costco and buy at least twice as much as that every month just in case. Storage costs are getting a bit prohibitive though

Limited storage space can be a pain but I've got two chest freezers in my garage which helps.

My piles can also be a pain if the toilet rolls are the incorrect kind. I choose to use the unscented, white toilet paper, as dyes and perfumes can increase irritation. But that's an ongoing conversation I'm still having with my Doctor.

It?s spot on only if you ignore the reality that many benefit claimants are in work, but can?t secure wages that allow them to support themselves and their families, and that many others are unable to work through illness or disability.

In other words, it?s only spot on if you look at it through the lens of the Daily Mail, Twitter or other nonsense propaganda.

And, of course, the low paid and those who are out of work are the hardest hit when American mortgage lenders, Putin and now Trump decide to play Jenga with the world economy.

It’s only spot on that many benefits claimants need support because they can only work reduced hours because of needing to juggle / balance looking after their family. Still as a society I think that’s better that they are helped more than the ones who just decide not to work.
Little propaganda lens required to understand that the shrinking working population then are expected to pay more to support this. It’s Just a fact.
Still it’s noble and a benefit to society as a whole to support your own in need.
However it’s only spot on to extend those same benefits to the worlds poor who government have decided are welcome to come here and enrich our society and use propaganda to support the notion and shut down debate that they cost society nothing and are net contributors.

That’s the nation ?78 billion poorer.
Just think how many of our own poor could have been lifted out of poverty with that.

We have loads of people who sit in their arse with 5 kids claiming benefits that’s their income.

Someone who works for me has 2 kids and he’s struggling. His wife has cancer but can’t get a PIP as her husband is working. Yet over the road same family 6 kids never worked a day in there life husbands a carer claiming disability. Caravan in Skegness etc you know the type.

He can’t afford to get to work to pay for those lazy dole wallers. Make that make sense?
I’m paying his fuel for him and I have given him an interest free loan to keep him going whilst lazy ****ers get up at lunch every day.
I agree some need help but if you think we don’t have a problem with lazy work shy families you are deluded.
And of course we have a certain demographic with kids from multiple wives but hey we are funded them lazy gets too.

Of course there are people who milk the benefits system. I have prosecuted and defended several such people in my career.

I suppose you could say that human nature dictates that some people see an opportunity to exploit simply as an opportunity. That is why some people are happy to milk benefits. It is also why some water company executives saw dumping raw sewage into rivers and the sea as part of a lucrative a business model. It is also why some business owners saw the Covid crisis as an opportunity to accrue wealth by selling dodgy PPE or making fraudulent claims for soft government loans or furlough payments.

The trick is to avoid tarring the majority with the actions of a minority. Not every benefit claimant is a shirker in much the same way as not every person in business is a fraudster.

For example, I do know a businessman who claimed furlough payments from the government whilst keeping his business open, but that doesn’t make me angry at and want to insult all business owners. Maybe it’s an emotional intelligence thing.

I did not realise that this thread was about race, but it isn’t a subject that I am obsessed with and I do not have social media feed that encourages me to be.
