    Matchday Thread: QPR v Rams

Our top 6 hopes now dangle by a thread

Anyone got any hopes of a result at Loftus Road?

Play off hopes all but technically done and in any case, even if we did fluke qualification the side is now so drastically weakened by injury that we’d struggle to compete.
Not sure how they motivate themselves in such circumstances tbh, so a meaningless damp squib 1-1.

My mate's b'day so it's a 1-2. Unfortunately Hull win at Charlton and we can play the kids against Sheff U.

We've been generally pretty crap recently with continuing injury problems not helping! I can't see any change for the last two games leaving a feeling of what might have been if we had not suffered from so many injuries.
    4-2 defeat.
    Time for the kids methinks!

1-0 Derby, though I expect their minds will be on holiday.

Well faint thread of hope goes on. Wrexham finish away at Coventry and home to Middlesbrough who may have a shot at auto. Hull wont find Norwich so easy, Norwich having an excellent away record (although likely on holiday)

So as long as Coventry at least get a draw tomorrow, and then Southampton get at least a point midweek to keep Middlesbrough in with a sniff...

    And we take down Sheffield...

Then ironically that nice Mr Gibson might be instrumental in helping us sneak into the playoffs

Indeed. Does fortune favour us or is it the hope that kills you? ‘Damp squib’ indeed! Shows what I know.
Suppose the meaningfulness of our final match depends on Coventry’s remaining determination tomorrow, but I’m giving up on predictions in this season of never ending surprises.

Some saying Lampard will play kids today but im not sure, last home game of a promotion season? Id expect they will want to go out in style.

Let's hope he makes better choices today than he did at Wembley that day.

Will Lampard and his players play for pride in their last home game of the season or will the Champions celebrations have carried on all week and they're all still semi inebriate from all the alcohol?

The game? One of those where their fans will be saying they didn't deserve to lose that one and I'd agree 100% with them. The stats, with the exception of the scoreline, genuinely reflect the game. Possession 55% - 45%. xG 2.27 - 0,87. Shots 24 - 12. Shots on target 12 - 3. Yes, they had as many shots on target as we had shots. We had 3 on target and all 3 went in. Well hit shot with a slight deflection from Fraulo for his first Rams goal. Good header from Langas who was simply stronger than his marker. Brilliant goal of the month (season?) quailty from Banel to seal the 3 points. Our MOTM was JWZ who was the reason we stayed in touch and thereby allowing us to equalise twice and then get the winner.

I was surprised that we were under the cosh so much. They'd lost their previous 2 games and made 7 changes for this one. That they came out so strongly, not only physically but also in terms of tactics, cohesion and movement. They looked like the side on the cusp of the playoffs rather than us. As it was, we, somehow, managed to keep the scoreline close, giving us the chance possibly win the game, which we eventually did.
