    Next Season Squad - Goalkeepers

All eyes now on next season

Position by position, who's going to be on the teamsheet for that first game in August, and who's going to be in the 25?

    First, Goalkeeper

    My opinion?

    Expect: New keeper
    Want: Zetterstrom
    in support: Vickers, O'Donnell

IMO the position of keeper is where we've shown our strength in depth this season and I'd love the same three to see us through next season. However, JWZ is our most saleable asset (£10m?) and Clowes' pockets may not be bottomless and I have an uneasy feeling that the Swede may be sacrificed to pay for a brace of outfield players with a relatively cheap replacement for him found. Hope not though

    Anyone?

Completely agree. We’ve been blessed with good keepers this season - if not their fitness - but 10m? Not for me.
For perspective, we got 9m for Cashin and good keepers are routinely fetching 20-40m.
JWZ has improved immeasurably since we signed him and he was already good. I’d estimate at least 15m, possibly 20m plus depending on how things develop over the summer,

Racey! Eric Steele valued him at 6-10 last eve on Radio Derby and amongst the top three Derby keepers since he became ?one of us?. Incidentally. 1st Poom, 2nd Grant

Much will depend on him playing, and playing well, at the World Cup this summer. An excellent tournament could see his value rise and IMO the absolute ceiling would be 15M.

Love to see him still here next season, following a good WC tournament, with a pay rise and an extended contract.

Vickers and O'Donnell. Does any current Champ side have that quality of backup? (excl those teams currently in the PL)
