They used to say if they put forward a donkey to stand as a Labour candidate in Dundee it would get elected now they same can be said of the SNP. The only thing worse imo than an SNP majority is the SNP forming a government with the mental Greens who look like they may hold the balance of power. God help us!

All the bullsh1t that the SNP spout about more funds going to Westminster than they get back isn't just bullsh1t it is a bare faced lie. The Barnett formula giving Scotland an extra percentage of funding is a fact that most SNP delusionals don't want to admit to and facts and SNP policies and outpourings should never be mentioned in the same breath. Their recent nonsense about paying more to Westminster than they get back would only 'work' if Westminster continued to pay all of the things not currently devolved to Holyrood and the big one amongst many is pensions and some of the welfare payments paid out nationally. You have to be economically 'illiterate' to ignore this and believe the crap that the SNP masquerade as policy and one thing I'm absolutely sure of is that the average SNP MP and supporter is economically 'illiterate' in the extreme. I honestly don't think the average SNP supporter knows what they would be letting themselves in for if independence was gained. A devolved SNP Scottish Parliament is bad enough let alone they damage they could/would cause if the broke from the UK. I have heard myself and second hand SNP hierarchy admitting that we would be worse off, way worse off, financially on our own but hey ho who cares let's do it anyway.

As for the Greens, they were bad enough as ban the car, stop the oil, save the Arctic Wombat, treehugging numpties but now they are an outright Marxist organisation with candidates and MPs, ffs, that should be sectioned. Looks like down South the electorate are deserting them a bit due to Polanski's buffoonery but our impressionable, crazy electorate up here have yet to see the light. The worst thing that has happened recently is the sheer incompetence/sleaze/dishonesty of the national Labour government. This has disillusioned what is left of the Scottish Labour vote and with the Tories/Reform never likely to ever form government in Scotland we need a strong Labour vote to stop the SNP cranks keeping control and continuing to run Scotland into the ground. I live in hope that the Scottish electorate will wake up one day and see the damage the the SNP and their looney partners in crime the mad Greens are doing to our country but I don't think I'll see it in my life time. UNFORTUNATELY!!

    Yes Islay is right.
Dodbroon has hit the nail on the head and everything he posts is correct.
The pro independence MSPs and supporters cannot even decide what the currency would be in an independent Scotland and they have no plans for a Central Bank which would be a lender of last resort.
It suits Swinney to keep banging on about wanting a second independence referendum as its keeps his pro independence supporters onside.
However the lavish funding from the Barnett Formula would immediately stop in an independent Scotland and the MSPs at Holyrood would have to get used to doing 100% of all the work currently carried at Westminster for England.
At present the Scottish MPs at Westminster have an annual salary of ?98,500 which is the same as an MP representing an English constituency but the Scottish MP only does 60% of the work. Health, Education, Justice and Transport are devolved to the Scottish Government at Holyrood.
Interestingly if there was no Scottish Government then it is likely that the exit road from the new stadium car park at Campy Nou would permitted to exit onto the slip road for the Camperdown roundabout.

I have been giving Dundee Mad a miss as I have been dealing on Facebook with a numpty from Oban regarding Calmac ferries on the Kennacraig to Islay route.
According this numpty?s Facebook page he now lives in Oban having originally come from T w a t t in Shetland.
Believe it or not T w a t T is a place in the Shetland Isles.
There is also a place called T w a t T in the Orkney Islands.
T w a t T in the Shetland Isles will be taking over from Useless Island.

Can only imagine what Dundee city centre will look in 5 years.

    Tragic it really is

Neither Tories not Reform stood a chance at this election. I can see Reform making headway for the next time but the Tories are finished in Scotland and have been for some time.

I have said for several years that the Unionist parties should all get together and put a pro union candidate in every constituency seat inplus the List constituencies in the Scottish Government elections, Westminster Government elections and Scottish Local Authority elections to defeat the SNP and the Greens once and for all.

They're all too self serving to do that and you'd still have other parties, which would arise to counter it, to vote for. The nationalists would still vote SNP or for other independence type parties. Best that idea would acheive would to narrow the gap surely?

Reform might rise as an option for the next election if they can replace Offord. Saying he has six cars, five houses and six boats was never going to draw massive numbers of normal Scots' votes from away from the SNP, in fact more likely aienated him from many. If they get a more grounded leader they'll get more votes I reckon.
