    Yates and Warren

I've calmed down now from last night

Theses lads deserve some credit (IMO)

Yates ran his socks off last night more or less on his own up front until Ward came on, them two together could be a good partnership given time.
Two goals but could have had more, we need to get him in games when we can.

Warren, lacking pace but he did put a good block in, seems to read the game and his going forward was good, he made the third goal, needs to go out on loan for experience . He made Halford look even more garbage

Warren started well but got bullied as the game went on.
He has some good attributes but would surely benefit from.going out on loan, probably to a non league club.
I'm not sure what to make of Yates yet. He did a lot of running and took his goals well but gets knocked off the ball too easily at the moment.
He looks very slight and probably needs to work on his upper body strength if if he is to become a top class striker.
He finds space in the box quite well and certainly knows how to stick the ball into the back of the net.
He would probably also benefit from a loan to a League 1 or 2 club but we can't really afford to let him do that at the moment because we are so short of strikers.

and ain't that a very sorry state of affairs that we are relying on a slip of a lad to carry our forward line….pathetic!

Yates will prosper in the game as he has the attributes but like previously posted needs to bulk up and gain more experience by dropping to the lower leagues for more game time….

As for Warren….reminded me of a young Hursty…. easily he ran out of steam in the second half so another one who has to look to build up his stamina…..some good touches and definitely one for the future but not now….

Sorry I don't agree with the bulking up part strikers need to be skilful enough to dodge the defence not smack them out of the way if he bulks up his speed will slow down due to the added weight to the upper body. He needs speed more speed

To be fair to Yates, he isn't a straight up lead the line centre forward, for me he's a bit of a sniffer, his movement will make his goals, he moved the centre half's all over, but no one from midfield was seeing the space he was creating. Another thing, with the midfield we're playing, getting anywhere near the penalty box means a shot at goal, not really what Yates was after, feed his feet in and around the area and he'll score plenty.

From what Ive seen of Yates, which is not a lot, but enough to see potential, I reckon he will be a goodun. Has pace and intelligence to get into scoring positions. For his age is good at reading the game. Will score many times for OUR team.

Chris-m, in my original comment I said he needs to work on his upper body strength as he gets knocked off the ball quite easily at the moment.
I'm not talking about him bulking up, just getting stronger.
I don't know if you're old enough to remember Will Hoskinsbut this was an area he worked on when he was a young player and he became quite a potent striker for us.
Yates has good movement and takes up intelligent positions but a bit of extra strength wouldn't go amiss.
