1st goal was ***** today the longer the game stayed at 0-0 and as the home side we didn't do enough to force the issue so no complaints. I wouldn't say we were obviously 2nd best but your game plan worked better than ours. We have too many central players and are trying to shoe horn 1 of them in as a wide player at the moment which isn't working.

Yeah you deserved the win pal but we shot ourselves in the foot with the missed chances..Fessi, Hooper etc all missed..Even hitting the bar with a free kick but your lads kept plugging away and came out worthy winners.
As Hirsty says above we have too many central players but that's not the only problem of late..I could only name a hand full yesterday that were actually in their own position..The rest looked all over the place.
Anyway mate will see you on the 28th and we'll have a few bevvies...Take care Rev.

Spot on HBW....you could see when we didn't take early chances it'd be a difficult game.
Leeds managed the game well and if they continue to play like that this season, they'll do well

Yep, both full-backs struggled and Bannan didn't influence the game enough. Feel a bit for Fletcher is he is playing well but isn't getting any service in front of goal at all.

Totally agree with you HBW about the midfield.

My three observations on our performance against Leeds:

1) Midfield chemistry - put simply it just isn't working. We lacked width and Leeds exploited that weakness. On too many occasions our full backs were left exposed -which wasn't helped by them having a poor game. I also think we missed Sam Hutchinson in midfield, but obviously with the current situation at the back then him moving into midfield might not be an option.

2) Missed opportunities - we squandered several chances and Leeds made us pay for it. The uncharacteristic finishing of Forestieri cost us dear and we had at least two clear cut chances to get that all important first goal. I'd put this down as just 'one of those days' but hopefully we'll be more clinical in future.

3) Square pegs in round holes- In my opinion, I think we should revert back to the 4-3-2-1 formation. We also need to identify a balanced midfield before it becomes an issue. We are crying out for a natural winger who will hug the touchline and give us that width - ATM we only have Wallace who can do that.

A tough week but we don't become a bad side overnight. I think it's purely down to Carlos trying to find the right balance and chemistry. Unlike last season, we have a number of quality players to accommodate and that's where Carlos will earn his money.

And, of course, credit to Leeds who deserved the victory.

Im finding out already that one result and performance can be very different to the next, and life in the Champship this season is going to be hard.

Hard to calculate the effect of FF saying 'not available'...as supporters we only hear a bit of the truth.
Given the importance of our home form though, it just underlines how important it is to get momentum....look at Barnsley's momentum so far.
The chances created at Brentford were encouraging (only saw the highlights)...but still confident with a small c
