    The Championship Table

It does look as if a clear gap is opening earlier than usual this season. Below the top six or seven, I suspect it's going to be a case of completely unpredictable results. Despite our poor recent run, we haven't been cut adrift.
We do tend to expect the worse these days (not surprisingly, I admit), but should we already be talking as if we're doomed?
Remember what happened with Rotherham last season? You only need to go on a mini-run and everything looks different quite quickly.
The fact is, Coyle has clearly put too many eggs in the goal-scoring basket, but he HAS been unlucky with defensive losses (Hanley & Duffy) and injuries to defenders.
I'm not contradicting the stuff on the other thread here; our position as a proper football club - in the wider sense - is still dire, but I do feel things are not as hopeless as some supporters are implying in terms of where we will finish in the table, because there really do seem to be a lot of very mediocre teams in the Championship this time around.
If we lose the next two games, it is quite possible Coyle will be gone. If not, it will be fascinating to see what he is allowed to do by the owners in the January transfer-window.

Quite agree Aucks ie given a mini run of results we could climb.
My own view is garnered by my increasingly infrequent visits to Ewood where to me the mood both on and off the field is downbeat in the extreme. I'd be lying if I said I saw glimmers of improvement in the overall performances.
This then is magnified by the regular attendees (both home and away) reportings.
It's gathering quite a pace now, and I shudder to think what kind of atmos is going to be the case at the NUFC match.
No matter what the result at this and the Hudds match I think OC is as good as history for most of our support ie the majority want him gone.
There is and has been far to much murky water re his appointment and his 'performance' simply endorses the initial feeling.

I wonder if someone like Pardew or Hodgson would be interested. Neither of them is in need of a high salary!!! (I don't imagine Hodgson would be a universally popular choice among Rovers fans, however )
I'm sure Robin's more likely to be right, though, with his suggestion of Gary Rowett.
I have to say, I'm increasingly tempted by the proposition of a Johnson/Dunn promotion.

If I was rowett, pardew or even hodgson I would not go anywhere near us
it looks increasingly likely that Lambert was promised funds that unsurprisingly venkys didn't follow up on
The Johnson/Dunn partnership would have hopefully the fans backing being they have the club's interests deep at heart
would it work?none of us truly know but one thing is for sure they will know which of the youth team could make it at league one level
(sorry but that is where we are heading)
when you have no money the academy is your saviour and I am proud to say we have a very good youth set up
time to make use of it.
