Shows how football is all about opinions !

But when it gell it's worth watching....the long term plan needs persistence.

Leeds proved that Warney is not the answer.....it also proved that "playing the Rotherham way" is not the answer - in this league.

Blackburn are the latest proof of how "underdogs" should play....not that I've said it before but we nearly did Newcastle that way but lost to the odd goal but a great match to watch.

13 games on is just not enough to master the discipline with a new squad and slow old pro's....

Ah well.....proof after proof and maybe one day we'll learn.

Indeed - and you make some interesting points. You need to work with what you have, and cannot impose a system until you have all the pieces in place. I think Stubbs' problem was that the building blocks were not there, and the Newcastle game you refer to was different in that we didn't - and still don't - have enough firepower up front to play that way - or a good enough defence. Stubbs' played differently against Newcastle in that he told the lads to go out and have a real go - a kind of hybrid approach to his own and Warney's way - maybe that is the answer?

Saw miller....that's exactly right ( only my opinion )

"Parking the bus" is just one technique / tactic used within a match sometimes all the game sometimes part of the game.

I would have "parked the bus" after half time at Leeds - 10 men behind the ball for a good 20 minutes to take the sting out of what was obviously destined to be all out attack by leeds.

You are correct that a "hybrid" of parking the bus is fine but the personnel and the team as a whole needs the discipline drilled into them.

That's why my heart bleeds for us this season because I truly believe that Stubbs had sussed us out - and identified his runners and riders ( & horses for courses ) and we didn't give him time to paint the whole picture he wanted.

But performances were getting better - but the sacking and Mr Millwalls debacle has left us rudderless in the wild storm of the championship.

I believe that he would have the discipline of the team together after performances like Huddersfield and Newcastle and confidence would have beaten Reading and we would be ok now.

No matter what guru's we bring in now - the basic rules will always apply - in that the underdogs can't go toe to toe with far better teams - it ends up ugly every time so - suck in the pld pride - realise who and what we are and play the only way we can.....

So we're looking at the same tactics as AS but now too late to make a difference!

This window would have made the team a polished outfit out of the limping team being reincarnated into the championship side we all want.

Just my opinion - it's simple but complicated by players - time constraints and fans undermining a manager almost immediately - because his concentration was team oriented and not political - that is not waving....

I saw progress but that's just my opinion and sacking AS has cost us the championship - barring a miracle.

Fingers crossed bad referee's decisions balance out because if they do - top six is possible....

Warne has already won more games than Stubbs. We should have also beaten Wednesday 0-1 but got cheated by the ref.

Parking the bus didnt work for Stubbs when he tried it.

Mainly because he parked it on the hard shoulder.

I appreciate that you keep making the same points because you really believe what you are saying. You claim we were unlucky against Huddersfield and Newcastle but, just to add a bit of balance, we were fortunate to get a point against 10 man Wolves and I still don't know how we managed to beat Brentford.
So, bearing in mind what you've said about luck, we could have had four points less.

Straight away missing the most blatant facts of the season.

Warne has a fit squad that knows each other now...

AS had a new squad learning new tricks

    Spot the difference ?

A very very poor QPR and a Wigan book off by their own fans and then nearly nicked a point

Start comparing apples against apples and I'll listen to you but you're blindly ignoring pertinent facts.

AS has gone now but the facts remain that football has laws / guidelines / empirical truths that cannot be ignored !

    I say again.....

Tactics of the underdogs must be followed or we are fighting like the charge of the light brigade.... valiant but dead !

Any new manager starts from the back and tries to be hard to beat !

Master this art then one goal wins !

We were scoring at the start of the season - and scoring g enough to win games... when....when...when.. our team "got it" ( without Wood strangely enough ) we lost by the odd goal - but much much better game by game.

Plot the performance graph to 23 games and we would be OK now... and ready for new blood to bolster the squad ....

    And dead wood gone...

It's so simple....but it takes the manager to drill the team first....

Look better teams / players suss out weaknesses of team on the pitch - the manager basically talks to the press.

    😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

And some on here knocked me for my mentioning of Steve Evans..... at least I was posting on a man who got us promoted twice and kept us in the championship....

Ibj's fixation still posting on a complete clueless tactician who brought the dross to our club is very disturbing indeed....

Dr Kempo can you help this deluded fan?

Its got nothing to do with not having no fire power up front,we have scored goals, with just over half the season gone,we have conceded 55 goals, its not rocket science, the defence as been absolutely garbage all season, defenders who just cant defend.
