Prediction League - Liverpool - FA Cup

Wolves are the road to Liverpool this weekend, hopefully to gain another victory over a Premier League team. I am very curious to see how this one will go. Klopp featured mostly a B squad in their draw against Plymouth in the first match of the 3rd round. He sprinkled in some of his regular top XI for the replay. Liverpool also have not been in a great run of form lately, with two draws and a defeat in their last three league games. Plus the draw and an unconvincing 0-1 victory against Plymouth in the replay. The Reds lost to Swansea 2-3 at home this past weekend, so I expect them to be fairly motivated. However, they have the second leg of the League Cup against Southampton on Wednesday. What will Klopp prioritize? I can't imagine he'll want to tire out his first XI by having them play 3 matches in a week. So will he rest them against Southampton or us? I imagine it'll be us.

Liverpool are a big club and thus have plenty of resources and good players. They have 7 players with 5+ goals on the season (counting all competitions). Luckily, Sadio Mane is away for African Cup of Nations and won't feature against us. But I would think that at least a couple of Firmino, Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi and Lallana will play against us. That's still a wealth of attacking talent. However, Liverpool's defense has not been good this season. They've conceded 27 in league play, which is amongst the highest when looking at the top of the table. They're vulnerable at the back. Just a matter of taking advantage of it.

Not sure what to think. Wolves featured a weakened side against Stoke and we played great. Not sure what we'll do against Liverpool. But I think they still have enough firepower to overcome us. But I don't think we'll embarrass ourselves.

    Liverpool 2-1 Wolves
