Echo robins sentiments. Hope the crowd give Gary a good response. No one should ever forget his great buying for selling on :Gestede,Cairney,Duffy,Marshall and getting the very best out of Rhodes and King plus a decent Cup run......maybe he should have been our "Director of football"? Tactically no better than Coyle though,2-1 to Rovers,as we have conceded goals against everyone inc.Mansfield & Crewe (EXCEPT Newcastle).

Nice thought sentiment Bob, but who really would step into the managers role 'under the ex manager' sitting above?
The task is an almost impossible one as it is.
As said by both of you, on the sentiment side, Gary was great. But, it was my view also that he did not appear to have that necessary attribute to manage us to a promotion.
Those calling upon the relative 'failures' of his follow on's, does not for me endorse the shout of 'we should have stuck with him'. The fact that we appear to be worse off now is 'circumstance'.
Very, very few (if any) welcomed the appointment of OC, so where we are should really come as no surprise.

If you lose against the Lashers this weekend do you think there will be a knee jerk reaction and Rovers board get rid of OC and more importantly would the fans be happy with the board decision.

Bennett man-of-the-match. Just shows how much I know. I probably wouldn't even have picked him for the bench!

To be honest Aucks I haven't rated him either, but the last game (BCFC) he was the only one who was receiving the ball and very swiftly then searching and quite often trying and making that searching pass. This was in the first half, but sadly not as much the second. It was maybe his most contributory play that I have seen him play.
It must be down to all those OC's repeated 5 asides
Wasn't on today (and no I wasn't outside protesting).

Another strike from Tom Lawrence I see.

Well, I'm always happy for so-so players to suddenly come good. As I said, my friends in Ipswich said Feeney and Akpan were our two best players on the day, there!
Now, all we need is consistency....simple...

Don't know if you streamed commentary or not, but it's worth noting that Atkins commented over our squad generally, that one of the biggest failings was that player by player they very much of a 'muchness'.
None more so than midfield. Although this is far from a 'revelation' it does actually point to the fact that us onlookers/supporters may have a far better appreciation of the game than sometimes we give ourselves credit for.
This does then give credibility of sorts when we critique many things that we witness, this does not excuse the moaning or certainly abusing regardless, but considered comment is fine and justified.
It was mainly a case of Blackpool 'just didn't turn up' last night, but of course that's their loss and we can only deal what's put in front of us. But a wins a win and it's a good feeling for the squad.

On another tack: I am just nearly through a book called A season with Verona by a Tim Parks and it's a very enjoyable read for several reasons. As you may recall I spent some years working over there and from it formed a fair bit of opinion of them and their culture/mannerisms.
The basis is one season watching every game (H & A), but linked into it is his learnt experiences that then very much mirror my own conclusions I arrived at regarding the same.
The only thing that confuses me somewhat is that he already resides there in Verona and has done for many years, far more than I did. So I am left assuming he hadn't travelled all that far out side of that 'domain/region'.
And that's the learning curve esp North to South, or your nearest neighbour/'enemy'. The nearest 'cat eater' enemy slant is a fairly good mirror to our own relationship with our friends down the M65, so it makes the read very amusing. However their 'slagging' of those further North up towards the 'elastic' borders Easterly are a bit too much on the darker/unsavoury kind.
