Sky has f*ck all to do with the Champions League. BT has the rights, but I agree with your other points![]()
I've actually, the saddo that I am, submitted a complaint to the BBC today about the prominence they have given to this story on the BBC Sport website today. There is no denying this is news, as it is a potential world record transfer fee, but the number one headline item on a website whose aim should be reporting UK sports news should not be about a Brazilian player possibly moving from a Spanish club to a French club. There are some many other things going on in the UK sporting world at the moment that trump this news item.
I generally protest at the increased focus the BBC has given European leagues - if it has additional resources to give to its football coverage it could start by doing a better job of following and giving enhanced prominence to Scottish football, not least since two clubs are playing important competitive matches this midweek and since the domestic league season kicks off at the weekend.
Sky has a vested interest in bigging-up the European game as it is commercially involved in the Champions League and with La Liga coverage. The BBC is a different story altogether.
