Exactly Mick, and Ive felt the same about them from the early 90s onwards when our club used to have 2 regular defenders in their team. It was when Mel Machin was our manager and his former Man City connections saw Gerry Taggart & Gary Fleming play regularly for us and 'Norn Iron' lol.

I follow non league football at Stourbridge FC Acido, same division as Shaw Lane Aquaforce who hail from your patch I believe.

One of our fellow Stour mates is from NI and he's followed them all over the world and us locals are NI "fans" by proxy really as we like to see them do well for our mate "Ulster-Jim" as well as our Albion boys.

No real surprise they have such a good defensive record with 3 of our back 4 playing for them, they play very much as a team a little like us they don't have great technical players but they get results.

Ive also been to Nth Ireland a few times Mick and I love their accent, its one of those quirky 'marmite' type accents which you either love or hate. And they had the nerve to take the mick out of me & my West Yorkshire accent by the way, the cheeky gits.
Also, Ive no idea who Shaw Lane are, cos Im not from Barnsley!!.

Follewed northern Ireland last summer at France 2016, against Ukraine and Germany and the atmosphere was great with will grigg song and the Gareth McCauly song to the tune of white stripes seven nation army.

If I cannot get England tickets again at Russia 2018 I will try again to NI, if they qualifiy.
