Let me make it clear I am not and never have been against this proposed takeover right , does anybody honestly know how the plan to run our club ? It's all guessing isn't it ?
The 9 million ? Was from our custodian Mr Cryne a local man , Fan , and quite wealthy it seems , not a consortium of unknowns who may or not be fit for purpose ,
It's nothing to do with being stuck in my ways or not accepting change, i've had to deal with many things like that before in my life ,
Keep the Faith
We were a lick of paint away from beating a very good side today and deserving it aswell. Wt' ll be will be with take over. I'll just keep applauding a top performance until the next one.
Sick of bad feeling. This here say is just pitting fan against fan for what?
We've all got different stances. However, there will still be a Barnsley FC in some guise long after we're dead and gone.
So Animal, Roma, Hodger your all reight one way or another.
It’s happening! If anyone visits the east stand upper, then the first bill board before the drinks stand, I see the new owner! Did anyone else see it? is a sign
Any negatives I see from the consortium I'll state them no problem , earlier today I questioned their commitment if they are unwilling to pay the market value to the council for the land surrounding Oakwell .
If I thought for one moment this was a poor deal and we are heading for disaster then I don't want them near the club .
I'll accept our fate as a small town club trying to compete at this level and when we do take the inevitable drop into league one then I'll accept that too .
When an opportunity arises to stabilise the club in the championship with the potential to grow and all the evidence points to the new owners buying the club for the right reasons then I'm for it 100% .
What I won't accept is settling for league one or championship struggles just because we aren't prepared to accept the games moved on and don't wish to adapt to the way things are today when the opportunity arises for us to do so .
If there's one thing in life that bugs me then it's potential never reached and opportunity wasted , drives me feckin nuts and I'd sooner die trying than not give things a go and see what happens .
Well said Roma. The club is the most important thing. 130 years of history and counting. All the talk of our natural place being in the championship is pretty unrealistic with respect. We are financially out of our depth in this modern day malarkey, especially wiart any backing. Historical stature means ballax all, ask Leeds and sheff wed. Them two should be top 10 prem club's but in the present climate, they're miles away and have been for nyon 20 years. Same wi forest.
I ain't saying that we should be settling fo lower league fayre but come on, history gains you feck all. It's not a fair barometer to judge us on right now as to where this club should be. It's totally changed has football.
Thaz hit nail ont eearrd wi thi post Roma-"we'll be in which division we deserve to be in" it's that simple mi owd.
We've already explored down that avenue mate in the wake of our relegation from the premiership. John Dennis saw the opportunity, tried, went for it and sent the club bankrupt. We've well and truly tried and failed in that field almost losing the football club for good in the process.
The most important thing is the continuation of the football club. The generations after us
may perhaps not have the luxury of championship football on offer but they'll have a home town club to support.
As a fan you can either accept what is happening at your club or stop going. There's absolutely nothing you can do to effect the outcome .
I'm sure we'd all go whatever division we were in like we've all done in the past. Thick and thin and all that .
Pass you've overlooked two similar sized clubs to ourselves in Watford and Burnley who have failed to stay up in the PL on their first two attempts before finally finding their way .
Your point about John Dennis is fair enough in 2002 but the club is run today in a far different way and the new ownership are endorsing that if we are to join the dots with Billy Beane on board .
Thaz nailed it theear ESR.
Mister Lee is not interested in the football side of things. Like all venture capitalists he wants to get his hands on an asset (land in a good location for retail and housing) as cheap as he can and then develop it for as much profit as he can. He will then bugga off. Thats why he is a multi millionaire/ billionaire.
A dunt want to rehearse all the arguments all ovva ageean. If he gets the land cheap enough and is allowed to develop it to make a profit then the deal will go ahead and we will then ev to wait two or three years to see who is reyt. My money is on the experienced venture capitalist coming art on top.
