More collective wealth going through the East Stand door today than it's ever seen , maybe even the town in one afternoon .

    About £8bn I'm estimating , fecking mad innit :-) :-) :-)

They want us to spend money at the ground! During the conference they said that the match day experience needs to be better.
When you visit the top clubs they have “fan parks” like at Anfield where there are different food and drink stalls everywhere and seating!
I reckon something like this or purpose built buildings will start to rise around Oakwell starting with the old school site which is now clear? This will entice supporters to the ground rather than spending money in town.

I think this'll be a struggle for the consortium because as we know Barnsley folk are creatures of habit who seldom like change or breaking routines. New era or new philosophy or whatever, they need to do something special to pacify local folk. We dont part with our hard earned brass easily rarnd these parts.

Whilst it's buttons a pint and saturday lunch time Sky match on in Chennels , no feckers going anywhere before 2.30pm .

I'm not knocking their intentions and it's nice to hear their considerations even though it goes hand in hand with extracting money out of thi wallet .

Different culture here as pass has alluded to , the clubs own boozer at competitive prices , snap and loads of tv's showing live sky game might and probably would work .

Fan zones in december and january , not so sure about that , august , september or may , possibly .

The new owners task is not made any easier because of the neglect of the "match day experience" over the last 14 years & beyond
Mansford recognised that but only made feeble half hearted attempts to put it right, probably constrained by lack of investment & know how.Look at the poor car park management history, the scoreboard fiasco [£100,000 just for support structure in E/N corner bullsh1t] the poor concourse tv's, the interminable queues for a half time drink /pie, the impossibility of getting into Redfearns bar
    .....the list goes on
These new guys have the know how & will make the attractions in my view they will get people talking and passing on the news where more dads can bring the kids [apart from sinking a few pints what does Chennels offer] because that's where the future lies if we're to have a future
Prices will rise but it's the cost of "progress"
Who didn't enjoy their match day experiences at Wembley last year [not referring to matches]
Smaller scale at Oakwell I know but same principle

This is absolute pie in the sky before anyone says owt and there's more chance of a group of billionaires taking control of BFC ......oh wait !!!

A brand new 15k capacity stadium , nice padded seats , dudes serving you snap and drinks whilst you watch the match and a permanent roof , we'd have to play on one of these new state of the art artificial pitches but that would give us an edge .

Make a reight atmosphere inside that stadium , not only that you could put all kinds of events on to earn money , concerts , boxing , monster trucks , twenty/20 cricket with a bit of tweaking , anything you want really .

Insanely expensive but that wouldn't half give us a brand and set us apart , takes the cold weather right out of it .

Could possibly argue it’s easier to make improvements and make an instant impact when you’re starting from nothing

Doubt they have 50 middle aged blokes in mind stood in the Chennels when they talk about fanzones and stuff like that .

More young kids and families who have nothing to do but sit in the car til near kick off or congregate around the club shop .
