    Lallana’s penalty/Holgates push

Once again a referee has got it wrong as lallana knew how to get a penalty once contact had been made, and the referee bought it, As for Holgates push on Firminio he should have pushed him a bit harder. It could have been a classic but due to what was at stake maybe we should have expected it to turn out the way it did,

That's not fair malwayne! Lallana is now apparently in an ICU fighting for his life after suffering from the Holgate criminal assault. It is not expected the cheating, diving, mardarse will pull through.

How Holgate remained on the pitch after sending Firmini into orbit I do not know? Two of the most hapless referees in the EPL had a comical hands over mouths exchange to decide that cowardly pushing a player into the crowd deserves nothing.

The fact that Holgate also manhandled the same hopeless referee compounds my worst fears that these EPL refereeing dudes are simply not fit for purpose!

Was there no card given for the penalty?

No. Holgate sort of gave him a quick cuddle, Lallana's both feet quickly came off the ground, followed by a theatrical triple palookas.

It was worthy of a BAFTA for Lallana and not a card for Holgate.

So disappointed in some of these players , posted when Ramsey did it at the turf ( someone I admired as a footballer previously).
Last nights dive was another comical event where the officials got it wrong.
The push was a yellow card as Holgate didn’t mean to shove him right into hoardings but nevertheless it was a card.
However if you lip read what was said Firmino is in trouble, worse is Bobby heard it and chose to do nothing about it , if you read Holgate lips after the event when Ref pulled him over Holgate said you heard that what are you going to do about it.
Maybe he didn’t book Holgate because of Firmino reaction as if he had yellow carded Holgate he would have to send Firmino off for racism.

    .

put your arms anywhere near them...and they'll go down.

to me, there's a simple answer - as S.D, he won't put up with it - so the players are told not to do it, cheating is wrong.....But I think that many Managers approve/allow it into their game, so are just as mendacious, if not more so, as the players that do it.

Got to be looked at retrospectively by a panel, and whilst you can't right the wrong with the penalty you can ban him for 3 games so he (hopefully) won't persist, same with his manager unless he punishes it first.... only way to stamp it out imo

A couple of very good posts above fellas

Although first you have to wake up the powers that be who who put these muppet out as so called Referee's who look like fools who have not got a clue.

Its a contact sport, but you would not think so with all the play acting that is going on, surely if the Ref thinks the "fouled" player could have stayed on his feet he should play on, it should be mandatory.

Abuse or Racism spoken should be red carded, it should be mandatory.

Back Chatting or crowding the Referee should be at least be yellow carded, it should be mandatory.

All time wasting, should be added, it should be mandatory.

I have put "should be mandatory" because it is in the rules, but is not applied 90% of the time by this not fit for purpose organisation.

Sinkov put on another thread about Mike Dean starting one season by correctly penalising players for holding other's before corners where taken, at the time I thought brilliant, but it did not last long and as Sinkov said Dean got Pillared for it.

The FA have sat on their arse for far too long and should be doing far more for what they are getting paid to make our game all the better for it, as at the moment it is a JOKE.
