"Without doubt the best event I can recall Clitheroe FC running. 120 tickets selling out in an hour. Great fun, great atmosphere, great speakers (Mr Haworth is no slouch in the story telling world either!!)and great compere. It was Pete Oliver from Burnley FC's media side who offered to see if Sean Dyche would speak. Not only did he come, he was absolutely first class. Engaging, witty and just generally a breath of fresh air. I've learnt over many years that no-one has to do anything. For Sean to take his time to help us out is not something I shall ever forget. I've always had friends who were Burnley fans, but my family were more Rovers. However, a friend in need is a friend indeed. I take my hat off to Burnley FC and to their fantastic manager. Thank you."

Sounded like a very good evening, things like this should be more common with more stars making the effort for Clubs who need help, well done Sean![]()
i think a lot more do but it just doesn’t get publicity. Particularly, when they hit late 20s and early 30s. Vinnie Jones did shed loads of stuff for hospitals at all his clubs and would stay for ages with kids making their day long after he was supposed to have left.
Many other examples. At my kid’s rugby club this year Wayne Barnes (referee) mid week ref’ed a game between u13s and u14s then stayed in the club for an hour or so answering all their questions.
Thankfully there are are still people around who do things without shouting from the rafters about it.
Yes I'm sure a lot more does go on without it being aired Mistic, but even more should be done.
I've read about Jones and I'd agree he certainly did more than his bit in his time.
It does not impress me when you read of Clubs players, especially top Clubs visiting hospitals, schools, day centres and all the rest, it should happen more often.
