Sadly Samuels confidence is shot to pieces
Do you persist or go back to nuttall?
I am thinking it's time for a change
Nuttall is still scoring for fun in the reserves so will be up for it
Samuels body language tells you all you need to know.

Aucks, as usual totally agree with all you say. Now that may well be because I’m a sheep, (in some eyes) but according to all that personally know me that is way way beyond the truth.
Now if Sax wants to ‘claim’ so, that’s fine I’m not going to lose any sleep. I have myself critted him for his behaviour . In doing so have stressed that this is nothing personal, as this is a debating forum. I would not normally do this, but his antagonistic approach leads me to respond accordingly. I just wish he would recognise this.
I said on the other thread that the comparative mindset of the ‘group’ that Champs referred to is not utterly because we agree (as we don’t always), but have the capacity to discuss and debate our differences .
I have myself said last year that TM displays the elderly cautionary trait and could well be doing with being a bit more positive minded. However over time he has won me over in the way he has gone about his task. We are now on the verge of possibly clinching auto, and a small chance of being top.
Now if we were ‘edging’ for play offs I would have no problem decrying his approach and agreeing his ‘style/methods’ have failed us.
As for next season re ‘can he / can’t he’ that for me is a pointless debate.
It’s not really what TM aspires to, but Venkys.
They will instill his target, and that is what will be agreed at the outset.
If he is being seen to be heading for failure he will be replaced.
Our support (since our recent glory era) has generated a very large portion of unrealistic fans. Aspiration is fine , but many of them seem to have a ‘we’re far better than this’ mentality.
This is the ‘legacy’ of those incredible upturn days.
Just as with GB, I harbour doubts that TM has it in him to deliver an immediate (follow on) promotion if that is the target set by Venkys. But despite that I believe he deserves a crack at it . If he wants it?

Re: Fair play ruling. My understanding has always been the monies outlayed have to be proportional to turnover. Debt or monies in bank or in owners pockets are not part of the equation. Hence my concerns that the increasing gates we all hoped to see just isnt really happening .
This is my reasoning that all those stay aways who harbour and believe these difficult to achieve aims and spout them on forums are actually personally putting a bigger blocking towards it, than TM’s methods/tactics.
As Champs often says “for Christ’s sake if you care so much , get your arse down there and actively support”.

This from a ‘passive’ supporter. 😉

Champs is in a decent permanent job that is well paid. I work sporadically in poorly paid temp jobs.

I cannot afford to follow rovers as he does, and the fact he keeps labouring that point about other posters when he doesn't know their circumstances is beyond the pale.

Despair first of all sorry for just highlighting one of your points but it's a particular favourite of mine
    FFP
What exactly is the rules on it?it seems to apply to some and not others
    Why is this?and apparently it's over 3 season's now and not 1
Wolves are a team that I don't have a problem with but I wonder how they have spent millions and millions without punishment
Have they brought in the 30+ million they have spent?of course not so why no transfer embargo they were quick to impose on us.

Robin, the overall ways and means of this ‘ruling’ is a bit of a mystery to me also.
I have a real mistrust of most things that ‘are dreamt up’ by our ‘betters’.
I suspect that most deliberations are dealt with subject to the panels ‘leanings’ re size and stature of club and the financial ‘clout’ that could incur.
End of the day, our turnover is nowhere near enough IMO to be sufficient to provide for the kind of spending that would probably be required to re generate the squad to give us a shot at Prem promo.
Having said that, even now, I suspect we are still sailing close to the wind with our recent spending. This could only be sufficiently countered by the monies brought in from sales over the last 12/18 months (subject to where they sit on the pertinent yearly balance sheet).
Of course you would think BFC should not really be all that better off than us in reality. Ie their gates are nowhere near enough to ‘comfortably’ sit inside of FFP.
But, they have spent little in comparison and seem to have a much lower running costs base than us. Add to that a manager who is performing miracles in holding what they have.
And they’re in a comfy place.
    It’s ‘their time’ obviously.

    Re: 7:45 posting

That’s fine, by that I mean most folk have only so much ‘spare change’ to spend and varying degrees of financial responsibilities.
Football stopped being the working mans sport, quite some time ago now, and for me is the worst for it.
However, it is what it is and I’m told it’s ‘market forces’ . Yea sure 😖

If it was a rule for all to live within your means I would be ok with this however it seems to differ from club to club
I am under no illusions that if venkys challenged the transfer embargo we would of won
Sadly they have lost interest in a club they have no idea how to run and listened to the wrong people
They have only dipped into their own pocket this season with a view to eventually sell us on
The continued no money in wasn't working
    Speculate to accumulate.

Trying to ascertain what is going through Venkys minds , I gave up trying to do a long time back.
However, my ‘instinct’ tells me that they have not given up, they’ve simply handed the reins (finally) to folk who have an idea what they’re doing. This, on the overall instruction of what they wish/need be achieved. Currently this is a reversal of our demotion last year.
I am fairly sure the financial matters have been clearly spelt out re FFP, even if they wished to keep on putting the overspend in.
As I see it they are simply keeping us afloat in the hope this first hurdle is achieved at least pdq.
As for a sell on, that can only happen if 1) they write off the total debt, or 2) we regain Prem status - IMO.
I cannot see any other scenario.
Given that they are now ‘off the scene absent owners’, I would have thought that the anti Venkys stay aways would have returned in more numbers . But either the feeling is so strong that it’s still not ‘good enough’, or they cannot be seen to ‘back down’, or they’ve simply lost the habit/interest/passion.
Any combination of those could apply.
Disappointing as that is, that’s my view.

It's all a mystery to me. All I know is, if Venky's bail, we're up the proverbial creek.
