I’ll give you Donny though it’s a shocking view and a crap ground and maybe Bradford but the others are pushing a 100 mile round trip. Just as close as Forest or Derby which I wouldn’t call local. Thanks for trying to cheer me up a bit though 😀

It's not that we have less pull club size or budget wise , it's the way we operate mate that makes us less of an attraction .

All things equal then Grant McCann should have enough about him to have us challenging the top 6 , the current squad is way off the pace at championship level but having looked at the standard of the play off teams we should have enough with two or three additions .

The players are capable but are they a strong unit? I've always said lg1 is about attitude and organisation. Although the play off teams were unimpressive to watch they were well drilled sides. I worry that our lack of experience may be the difference on a cold Tues night away at Gillingham or Plymouth. Thaz got to be up forrit, be organised and feight for points, do the dirty work and tha'll find the extra quality then comes to the fore.

Its a key appointment this next HC. If he can instill doggedness and determination then I'm sure we have enough to get that top 6. If we get another joker as HC I really wouldnt like to predict the outcome next season. Huge decision that goathair and co need to bloody well nail

How bad were Shrewsbury?
If that shower can get 80+ points it says something about the standard.
Bad as they were today, they were even worse against Lincoln in the JLT.
If that Beccles can get a game I'll get my boots out the loft. He's not even Sunday morning standard.

They looked woefully tired to me today and Becvles did have a 'mare. Its bin a long season for em, 62 games is a huge amount to play with a small squad. Agree they were as poor today as they were against Lincoln. However, i seen them play decent in other games on tv this season.

From what I've gathered McCann's a feisty b@gger and won't tolerate any nonsense .

He's plenty of experience as a player at that level if a little short in the technical area but so have many of our managers / coaches who have won promotions in the past .

Give him a 12 month rolling contract and see how it goes .

Of course the recruitment thing is the issue isn't it and the ridiculous thing is that we are worried about the numb nuts behind the scenes as much as anything else .
