I wonder who is recommending these non and ex-league players to us. If they are experienced scouts, fair enough, I hope they find us diamonds in amongst the rubbish. "The Management" has said, though, that we will have a smaller squad this season. If this squad contains players with promise but inexperience, then that may mean dropping them occasionally while they learn League 2 and THAT will mean back-up for them, injuries, and suspensions won't it?

This is starting to remind me of Lewis Alessandra. People last season said he was quality against us, how did his season pan out? 5/10 most games for me with a sprinkling of good performances.
Some of you are so negative!

Dennis scored more goals than any of our other strikers last season in a much worse team, of course he will improve us.

Just trust the management teams judgement and enjoy the football, they've not done a bad job so far.

Just take alook back at the midfield we had when we last went up and look at the clubs they came from none you would say were glamour signings but they turned out to be brilliant for us.

Dennis had Bradford after him in Jan a top end league one team if they are back in for him then it won't matter as he won't be coming here.

As for Kellett don't know enough about him other than the game against us but I saw a Yorkshire journo has posted he is on the verge of signing for us.

If we were signing him as a left back I'd much prefer his ex-teammate at both Man Utd and Wigan Reece James, much bigger, seems composed on the ball (looks up when he crosses) and seems to have an ability to defend. Probably going to a different league one side after his Wigan release.

    But to stay on topic, Andy Kellitt became notorious for this goal;

Reece James is a quality player and still only 24, I'd welcome his signing with open arms and a few party poppers but I'd imagine he'll stay in League One as you say.

McLeod did the same in the league above us when we signed him...

You have missed the point. IF the scouting team have watched these players over a number of games and gone to KN with recommendations then fair enough. IF like some on here we have seen them against us, they had a good game and that is enough for a contract, then oh dear.
You didn’t answer either of the questions I asked and like Dennis, Alessandra scored a fair amount of goals for Hartlepool when they were relegated and he didn’t exactly flourish in a promotion chasing side.
I said nothing negative, I asked questions that I have concerns about. You read and interpreted how you wanted and a bit like Stirling’s tattoo came up with an incorrect conclusion.
Just because I am not blowing my load over my screen over a player I have seen once, I am negative. Good one.

    My thoughts exactly!

Why do folks assume a player will always go to a league higher than us? Would you work in Poundland for £1,000 a week or Marks & Sparks for £100?

Because generally speaking, the higher up the pyramid you are the more money you can pay players as the teams tend to get bigger and their finances tend to be better.

The money examples you listed are too far apart too, I think some people would choose the better reputation if the figures were close.

An interesting analogy, particularly when you look at M&S recent performance.
